What Meghan Markle wrote about Kate Middleton on The Tig in 2014… as she relaunches lifestyle brand As Ever
As Ever essentially means as it’s always been, and if you’ve followed me since 2014 with The Tig, you know I’ve always loved cooking and crafting and gardening – this is what I do,’ she said.
‘And I haven’t been able to share it with you in the same way for the past few years, but now I can so, as things are starting to trickle out there, I wanted you to hear it from me first.’
Her comments were perceived as a slight at the Royal Family and Meghan’s sadness over having to close The Tig in 2017, ahead of her and Prince Harry’s royal wedding the following year.
Shortly after Meghan revealed the As Ever rebrand, her past comments about the Princess of Wales in a 2014 post on The Tig resurfaced online.
In a post on the now-defunct website, Meghan showed her feelings about royal princesses before she met Harry – and they were not completely flattering of her sister-in-law.
The former Suits actress reflected on the ‘pomp and circumstance’ of the wedding of ‘Princess Kate’, and made a rather scathing reference to ‘grown women’ who entertain ‘childhood fantasies’ about fairytale princesses.
The entry from 2014, written by Meghan during her time on the legal drama, spoke about her own childhood dream of becoming ‘She-Ra, Princess of Power’.
